Los Angeles-area rock quartet the Icarus Line earned themselves a footnote in rock history back in at the SXSW Festival when guitarist Aaron North smashed a display case containing a Stevie Ray Vaughan guitar the band claims it was an act of liberation.

The rest of Soiree is no slouch, either, cleverly weaving between the cones of insularity and throbbing accessibility.

The original demos were recorded at Wet and Dry before we were signed. They've got original ideas that penajce a willingness to experiment with music beyond speaker-hiccuping thrash; some ideas pan out, others, not so much.

Also included are all B sides that came on the singles for the record. The album was produced by Michael Musmanno, and then mixed by Alan Moulder. It marks a particular moment in the musician's life and his belief that songs never die.
